Guitar Tuition
Joe Lannon Guitar Tuition has now been running for several years. Joe is a qualified teacher and a registered member of the Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT). He has a Distinction at Grade Eight in Electric Guitar with the RGT which is validated by the London College of Music (LCM). He teaches electric and acoustic guitar from beginner to advanced and also provides tution for beginners/intermediates in Bass and Classical guitar. Many of his students prefer not to take graded exams but all those who have done so have gained a least a merit. Songwriting
Joe is also a singer/songwriter and is occasionally found singing at open mic sessions at the Maltings Theatre, Berwick upon Tweed (2nd Sunday of each month). Recently he opened a charity gig in Etal Village Hall in aid of the local First Responders.
Around eight of his songs have managed to reach the semi-finals of the UK Songwriting Contest. The UKSC is now in its seventh year. It was formed in 2002 with The BRIT Trust (of BRIT AWARDS fame) to encourage and promote the art of songwriting. In 2007 his instrumental piece 'Nimble Yeti' managed to gain a FINALIST position. The staff at the UKSC have always responded promptly and politely and Joe has always been appreciative of their positive efforts in promoting and encouraging songwriters.
Joe is a member of the Guild of International Songwriters and Composers and has a Diploma in Songwriting. He is hoping to see some of his songs published in the not too distant future and is toying with the idea of putting his first album together.
